A Keepsake of Memories

I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked side by side inside a large workroom filled with working angels.

My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, “This is the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received.

I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from all over the world.

Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section. The angel then said to me,

This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for, are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them.

I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.

Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor, we stopped at the door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing.

This is the Acknowledgment Section,” my angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed. “How is it that there is no work going on here?” I asked.

It’s so sad,” the angel sighed. “After people receive the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments.

How does one acknowledge God’s blessings?” I asked.

Simple,” the angel answered. Just say, “Thank you, Lord.

What blessings should they acknowledge?” I asked.

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealth.

And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity.

Also…..

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness … you are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day.

If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation … you are ahead of 700 million people in the world.

If your parents are still alive and still married …you are very rare.

If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you’re unique to all those in doubt and despair.

Ok, what now? How can I start?

If you can read this, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all. Have a good day, count your blessings, and if you want, pass this along to remind everyone else how blessed we all are.

A friend of mine is a fan of Roger Federer. I’m not a big fan of tennis, but i did take up lessons when i was still in high school. Why tennis you ask? I think it’s so much cooler than badminton. Serious.

My experiences with this cool game called ‘tennis’ hasn’t been very glamour. Hahah.. I can’t really remember how many lessons i went to, maybe for a month or two..The only memories of my tennis lessons are that of our instructor kept asking us to “Hit the fence! Hit the fence!“.

I guess the reason to that is to make sure each one of us can actually hit the tennis ball, before she ask us to play against each other. =)

This also reminds me of a trip me and a few friends made to Port Dickson, and having nothing to do..decided to play tennis. I was trying to show off my new found skills(whatever skills i have..LOLzz) to my friends. *Mind you, i was playing with the guys..*

As you guessed it, i wasn’t a good player…can’t really hit the ball..so as usual i was laughed at. (seems i get laughed at wherever i go..but nevermind, lurvve spreading the joy and laughter around. =D) There was one instance in the middle of the game where i said,

Chup! Wait..! Stop! Stop!”

Everyone stopped playing… and then…

Oii…Grace! Where got people stop and tie their hair in the middle of the game one!

Yeah wei….try saying that in the middle of a championship competition, see they stop the game or stop you from playing. Hahah…

Okayy…it wasn’t my fault that my hair was flying everywhere! It was very hard for me to run for the ball and no, hair flying everywhere doesn’t make me look sexy. Period.

Ahh…tennis! What fond memories…;o)

I feel like crying…

I’ve been telling myself since morning to calm down and take things one at a time. Make phone calls one by one and things will fall into place but i’m not doing very good. Being the multitasker that i am, my brain is processing everything at one go and that’s making me panic. For once, i’m not thanking God because it’s Friday. I wished today is Tuesday or something…i’m running out of time. =(

On another note, being nice to others sometimes may not be the best thing to do. Please read below:-

“FYI…you gave me the wrong address….again.”

“Huh? Is it? I took it from the website. *in my heart, what the heck do you mean again?!?!*”

“That’s why i asked you to check with KK. Nevermind la.”

*went offline*

How rude can anyone be?? First of all, this person knows KK. Has KK’s number, why can’t he/she call KK herself/himself?? So what if i’m closer to KK, asking for an address has nothing to do with who’s closer to who. The address also i googled it on the net, which she/he can do her/himself. Now that the address is wrong, i am to blame!?!? HELLOOO..!! Nak mintak tolong orang, nak marah pulak. Please la!!

*Spiffy’s got enough of bitching. What a bad Friday..sighhh..Help me someone? =(*

I managed to convince myself to attend BC4 at MPH, Bangsar Village 2 yesterday eventhough i was not feeling very well. *my coughs and flu are still lingering around, guess they love me too much to leave* I was late, as usual and to my surprise there was quite a big crowd yesterday. Grabbed whatever seat i could find, which was by the way right next to Lyrical Lemongrass and next to her was the lovely and bubbly Msiagirl. *not that i know it was them in the first place*

Lee Su Kim was up first and i gotta say, she was hilarious! She talked about her book A Nyonya in Texas, which comprises of her experiences as a Malaysian living in Texas. Everyone in the crowd had a mighty good laugh about the stories she shared with us. Our “regular friend” has struck yet again with his ‘how to make money out of writing’ questions. This time around he has toned down a lil bit, probably because Sharon and Kenny were not around. Hahah..

Msiagirl saved the day by asking Su Kim, “Did you meet any cowboys in Texas?” which gained laughters from the crowd again. Her answer to the question was No, she did not meet any cowboys in Texas. The only way for her to see one is to pay a bomb to go to a rodeo show. I guessed we can’t trust anything we watch on TV nowadays, can we?

After Su Kim was David Byck, which also talked about his book and how the process of editing a manuscript is a whole lotta work. He also mentioned the difference between a succesful writer and an unsuccesful writer. One continues to get his work out and the other gives up. As simple as that. ;o)

Xeus came after the session was over, flapping her hands in front of her. She came right after her manicure and pedicure session and really cute ones she had too. Green(her favourite colour, i’ve noticed) with lil flowers over them. Lovely! =D

After catching up and chats here and there, we adjourned to lunch. We being Xeus, Eric, Msiagirl, Lyrical Lemongrass and me. The food was yummy! Thanks Xeus & Msiagirl for treating us. =D And dessert after that from Just Heavenly. One sentence to describe them: Just Heavenly! ^_^ After lunch, we picked up Kenny at his new place and off we went to Seksan’s for Readings.

I won’t be doing my write-up on Readings, since a few other bloggers have done theirs. *in other words, moi malas la…* Kindly point ur mouse to the few blogs below to read up on what happened during Readings. ;o)

Last weekend had been eventful and dead tired as well..Read on to see what i did. ;o)

~Friday~

Rushed over to Just Heavenly after work at 5pm to collect my cousin’s birthday cake. Didn’t know the way even though i printed out the map(bleh..!) to go over to Plaza Damansara. Called up Kenny to ask but he was driving(dangerous, dangerous)..he managed to sms me Lyrical Lemongrass‘ number though and being the lovely and sweet babe that she is, directed us to Plaza Damansara. *Thanks a lot dear!* To top that off, she even volunteered to call Nigel to expect us. Such a sweet darling..;o)

After collecting the cake(which was Choc & Cheese btw..), we headed home(SS3) first because party was at about 930pm. After dinner, we got ready and off we went to Mystique at The Curve. Being a Friday, the place was brimmed with clubbers. We initially wasn’t very happy with the service from the management. My cousin open a big bottle of Chivas and also a barrel of beer, which cost about RM3K+ altogether but what did they give us? 3 standing tables. Not even the sofa seats…my goodness..! There were about 30 of us..just imagine. Bahh!

Another thing i don’t like..their toilets. Apa punya toilet, they didn’t even separate the ladies and the men. All masuk together…I keep thinking, what if a dead drunk guy slams open the door. *scary* Anyway, we(me and my younger cousins) were there till bout 1 something..(early, yes? Not for me..read on). I didn’t get drunk, which was very good…because i had a full day later. Went back home, slept at bout 345am…

~Saturday~

Woke up at 445am. Why so early?? Am going on a one day trip to Gua Tempurung, Ipoh! (so leaving at 1 something the night before was actually quite late for me..^_^) Yayy…! There were 13 of us altogether on the trip. We met up at the Rawang rest stop and headed to Kampar for breakfast. Had some really nice white coffee there, perked me up immediately. =D We reached our destination later than planned and being the school holidays now, there were a lot of people. Parents, kids, grandparents, etc…i was kinda surprised to see so many kids running around. *Chet, we can go together next time, age is definitely not a problem ..=D*

The first half of the journey was quite commercialised, with stairs build all around. We just followed the stairs all along while looking at the magnificent cave. There were a whole lot of stairs though..but i was telling myself, if people elder than me can climb..so can i. This should be kacang putih! So, there we were climbing up the stairs, half following the group and half exploring on ourselves. Actually, it’s not really possible to get lost there, cuz there is a pathway. Ikut saja…LoLzz..;o) 3 quarter into the first half, there were no more stairs, we had to walk in water the whole way thru. I was afraid of the insects that might crawl out…leeches, spiders, big ants etc…heheh..

We came out to a clearing about 2 hours later…i was very happy to see the light. Hahah..rested for a while, washed the stones and sands off our shoes and off we went back in.

The path back out is basically wet all the way thru..we have to walk in water, some parts where we have to “duck walk” and at times up to the point of crawling our way around because the top of the cave was just too low for us to walk. By this time, my mission is just to get my butt out of the cave, whatever fears i had of leeches in water, big hairy spiders and what nots have all been erased from my mind. LoLzz…!

When we finally made it out, i was wet from top to bottom when everyone else was wet from bottom down, all thanks to my colleague who poured water on my head. Grr…! When we were walking back to our cars, an uncle(i assumed he work there..) said, “Eh, takde hujan pun.. mengapa semua basah? ” Aduii…

Dinner was marvellous food. Went for taugeh chicken, then after that adjourned to this food court where we had more food. I reached PJ at bout 12am. Slept at about 2am..*tired as hell..*

~Sunday~

Was awaken by my cousin at about 10 something for breakfast. We went to Gombak for breakfast and guess where we went after breakfast??

Batu Caves!!

Everyone was telling me…”Grace, round 2 for you! Hahah….” Thank God the girls didn’t want to climb up the stairs, if not i would have to take off my high heels to walk up.

I was finally home in Seremban at about 6-ish pm. What a weekend! =D

This is for You:-

Do i mean anything to you or am i just another friend? When you say, “Are you okay?”, “You need to rest”, do you say them because you care or is it because that’s what everyone says.

Do i sound desperate whenever i asked you out? I know you’re a very busy man, what with work and all. It’s been a while since we last saw each other, and i gotta say that i missed you a lot. Ohh, i got it wrong. We met a few weeks ago. Seemed like ages to me. So what’s the next best thing that i can hold on to? Your voice. It’s as soothing and comforting as honey can be. Hearing them can brighten up my day anytime. The way you say “Hie!” makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

I have to say “Thank You”. I know i can be a pest at times, going to you for the smallest thing. So, thank you my dear for bearing with me.

After all that i’ve said, i think you should know where i’m getting at. I like you, i really do. I dare not say it’s love, but i do know for sure it’s not an infatuation.

Maybe you already have someone special in your heart, i don’t know. I sure hope you don’t. I guess all i can do is like you silently, without expectations and maybe, just maybe…you’ll notice me one day.

much love,
~ME~
